About Us
Ted Wilson
Ted came to the BRCC in 2005 as a seasonal employee. His life's work has been in Outdoor Ministry and Camping in one way or another. Prior to working at BRCC, he served as as a Trail Crew Foreman for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Since coming to the Blowing Rock Conference Center, Ted has worked in all departments. All the while enjoying the dynamics that Outdoor Ministry has to offer.
“Being the Director allows me to wear many different hats, so my days are never boring. There are many things that I enjoy about working at BRCC, but the most rewarding are the relationships that I have made over the years with our group leaders and guests.”
Ted lives on the campus of BRCC with his wife Jamie and their dog Snoopy and cat Grover.
Martha Shore
Martha has been with the Blowing Rock Conference Center since August 1992. If you have ever spent any time at BRCC, you have probably met Martha.
Martha serves the Blowing Rock Conference Center as our Director of Marketing and Finance, but it is hard to encompass her work in a title.
Her intentional hospitality is what makes her stand out, and everything that she does is because of her immense love of people. Martha enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Rooney, and she also has a mild obsession with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Linda Smith
Linda has been with the Blowing Rock Conference Center since August 1999. As with most employees at BRCC she has worked in all departments, but she is most at home as our Food Service Director.
Many of our guests report that the food was the best part of their retreat at BRCC. She makes a point to ensure that everyone is fed, so no matter what your dietary needs are, she will make something nutritious and tasty just for you.
Linda enjoys spending time with her grand-daughters, husband, and two children. If she ever gets a sunny day off she enjoys spending it at Wilson Creek. She has taken our food service from good to great.
Jared Greer
Jared has been with the Blowing Rock Conference Center since June 2009. He came to us as a high school senior, worked for us while he pursued a degree in Finance and Business from Appalachian State University, and after graduation he joined us full time.
Jared serves as our Reservations Manager, and during our busy times he also is our night time kitchen manager. His dedication to our mission can be seen in the hospitality that he extends to our guests.
Jared enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
