That is the mission of ReGeneration Church. I have had the honor of pastoring this congregation for the past two years. We believe that the grace of God compels us to love like Jesus and that love leads us to serve in our community. As a congregation, we take one Sunday per month and dedicate our typical worship service time to serving a community partner.
Blowing Rock Conference Center is one of our favorite community partners! We have mobilized to serve with this place in both the fall and spring seasons. You truly cannot beat either in the mountains! We have helped to clean the grounds by clearing brush, painting buildings and hallways, collecting sticks after storms, and completing other projects around this beautiful space. We have had moments of worship in the outdoor chapel. We have held leadership meetings in the conference room. We enjoy spending time in God’s creation and know we are partnering to bring about the glory of God in this place.
Most recently, we were able to serve an additional cause. In May of 2022, ReGeneration Church arrived at the Blowing Rock Conference Center with hearts tuned to something new. For the first time in two years, “Special Days” would be returning to BRCC for a time of connection, community, and camp songs. Special Days is an event for some very special friends and their caregivers to journey to the mountains of Blowing Rock for four days of fun, faith, and fellowship. Our church wanted to be a part of making that special time come to life. The theme was set to be “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. It went right along with our current focus as a church, chasing the promises of God in the rainbow. Our ReGen community mobilized to set up the stage, organize crafts, prepare activities, and fluff the precious paper poppies. Adults, children, and everyone in between had a purpose in that place! That is just what the Blowing Rock Conference Center provides: a purpose and place for everyone to serve, seek, and stay. At the end of our morning there, we set the decorations on the stage and prayed over the precious friends who would be arriving the following week. It is moments like these that make a mission come alive. The mission of Blowing Rock Conference Center aligns with that of ReGeneration. BRCC exists so that all God’s people can gather for community development, education, and spiritual growth. Each of those three things is experienced every time ReGen gathers to serve on those holy grounds. The space is accommodating, and the servant-hearted staff are amazing. Ted and Martha create an environment of laughter and love that extends to their employees, volunteers, and all those who are greeted and gather there. It is an honor to serve a space that seeks whole-heartedly to serve others in that way.

Travel to the beautiful mountains of the High Country as you reimagine, rewrite, and respond to God’s call and creation. ReGeneration Church is blessed to be a part of this place and knows great purpose and holy presence are found there for all who would embrace the words of Jesus in Mark 6:31 NLT, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.”
